Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 14, 2026 Website: partsmotors.com Controller / operator: PARTSMOTORS Korea (“PARTSMOTORS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) Privacy contact: info@partsmotors.com
This Privacy Policy explains how PARTSMOTORS collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects personal information when you visit our Site, create an account, submit an inquiry or quotation request, place an order, communicate with us, or otherwise use our services.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Identity and contact data: name, company, job title, email, telephone or messaging number, billing and shipping addresses, country, and language.
- Account and transaction data: Shopify customer and account identifiers, inquiries, carts or abandoned checkouts where legally available, quotations, orders, line items, payment status, refunds, store credit, customer tags, customer-service notes, and purchase history. We generally receive payment status and limited payment details from payment providers rather than storing full card numbers ourselves.
- Vehicle and parts data: VIN/chassis number, vehicle make, model, year, engine, trim, market, part numbers, quantities, fitment questions, photographs, and documents you provide.
- Business and trade data: company profile, tax or registration information, importer or consignee details, requested Incoterm, destination, end use, pallet/container requirements, and compliance information.
- Communications: emails, contact forms, chat and messenger content, attachments, call or case notes, and our replies.
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser, device, cookie or similar identifiers, viewed pages and products, referring source, search terms, time zone, interaction events, security logs, and analytics data.
- Marketing and consent data: subscription status, consent source and time, preferences, campaign engagement, opt-outs, suppression, and legally required privacy choices.
- Derived operational data: customer segment or grade, service priority, fraud or dispute signals, supply interests, and summaries generated to help authorized staff handle a case.
2. Sources of information
We collect information directly from you, automatically from the Site, from Shopify and connected store features, from payment and shipping providers, from communications channels you use to contact us, from our authorized supply or business partners, and from lawful public or commercial sources used for fraud, trade, vehicle, or business verification.
If you provide information about another person, such as a consignee, you must have authority to provide it and should direct that person to this Policy.
3. Why we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide the Site, customer account, product search, inquiry basket, quotation, and ordering services;
- identify customers across email, Shopify, messaging, and customer-service channels;
- check vehicle and part information, supply, pricing, alternatives, and sourcing status;
- process payment, procurement, packing, shipping, customs documents, returns, refunds, disputes, and warranty cases;
- communicate transaction and service updates and prepare customer-support replies;
- maintain an authorized internal customer record, including Google Workspace contacts or CRM records used for order and service operations;
- prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, sanctions violations, and unlawful transactions;
- comply with tax, accounting, customs, export, consumer, privacy, and other legal obligations;
- analyze and improve catalog quality, operations, Site performance, service quality, and marketing; and
- send marketing when permitted by law and your choices.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract or steps requested before a contract, compliance with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the business, and consent where required. You may withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the basis, without affecting prior lawful processing.
4. Customer support, CRM, and AI-assisted tools
We may connect customer communications with Shopify customer, order, inquiry, quotation, shipping, and case information so that authorized staff can understand and respond to a request. We may use automated or AI-assisted tools to classify messages, extract order or part numbers, translate, summarize, detect urgency or risk, retrieve approved knowledge, and draft a reply.
AI output is a support aid. PARTSMOTORS requires human review for material decisions about refunds, compensation, fitment guarantees, final price, confirmed supply quantity, substitutes, additional freight, customs terms, and disputes. We do not authorize a public AI agent to make those decisions or change an order solely on its own.
We configure providers and access according to the sensitivity of the data and do not intentionally use customer communications to train a public model where our chosen service settings or contract allow us to prevent that use.
5. How we disclose information
We may disclose relevant information to:
- Shopify and providers that host, secure, maintain, or support our store;
- payment processors, banks, fraud and dispute providers;
- Google Workspace, cloud hosting, CRM, helpdesk, messaging, email, automation, analytics, and IT providers used in our operations;
- suppliers and parts partners when needed to verify or fulfill a request, using the minimum information reasonably required;
- carriers, freight forwarders, warehouses, customs brokers, insurers, postal operators, and customs or government authorities;
- professional advisers, auditors, insurers, acquirers, and parties to a business transaction; and
- law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties when disclosure is required or permitted by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, security, and the integrity of our services.
We do not sell personal information for money. Some advertising, analytics, or Shopify enhanced services may be considered “selling,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising under certain regional laws even when no money is paid for the data. Where required, we provide a cookie banner, data-sharing opt-out page, Global Privacy Control response, or other privacy choice.
6. Shopify and connected services
Our store is powered by Shopify. Shopify processes information to provide the platform and may process some information for its own purposes as described in Shopify's privacy notices and contractual terms. Other connected apps and services process information according to their role and terms. Our current providers and privacy settings may change as we improve the store; we review the Policy and Customer Privacy settings when material changes occur.
7. International transfers
PARTSMOTORS operates from the Republic of Korea and sells internationally. Information may be processed in Korea and in countries where Shopify, Google, payment providers, cloud providers, carriers, communications services, and other service providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws.
Where required, we use appropriate contractual, organizational, or legal transfer safeguards and provide additional notice or obtain consent for an overseas transfer when applicable law requires it.
8. Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including order fulfillment, warranty and dispute handling, accounting and tax records, customs and trade records, fraud prevention, security, consent evidence, and legal claims.
Retention periods vary by record and applicable law. We may retain transaction and legal records after an account is closed or a deletion request is made where retention is required or permitted by law. When information is no longer needed, we delete, anonymize, or securely isolate it according to our retention process.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, role separation, authenticated services, secure transport, logging, and provider review. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for protecting your account, email, sign-in code, and device and for notifying us of suspected unauthorized access.
10. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our providers use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember settings, maintain security, measure performance, understand use, and support advertising where permitted. Available choices depend on your region and our current Shopify Customer Privacy settings.
You can use the Site's cookie or privacy controls where shown and can change browser settings. Blocking essential technologies may prevent parts of the Site from working.
11. Marketing choices
We send promotional email or messages only when permitted by applicable law and your consent or other valid legal basis. You can unsubscribe using the message link or contact us. Transactional or service communications about an inquiry, order, payment, sourcing, shipping, return, security, or policy may still be sent when necessary.
PARTSMOTORS marketing consent is not automatically consent to marketing for another STARKOA brand, education service, or unrelated business purpose.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or information about disclosure or automated processing. You may also have a right to appeal or complain to a privacy authority.
Send a request to info@partsmotors.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We may verify your identity and authority before acting.
